Page 13 of 365: Good Reads.

Hello there my fellow bloggers! How's everything going? Does 2013 treat you right so far? I hope it is and we may all have a wonderful, amazing and fun year. :)

Anyway, this year I promised to myself that I won't have any unread books in my shelf. I'll make sure that every book that I will start to read I hold on to it till the end. I will also give less time to the dramas of social networks like Facebook and Twitter but rather give more time to things that really make sense. :) (Oh is it really me whose talking?!)

So, I made a list of books I want to read and be part of my reading habits everyday for 2013. I have three in my mind right now, but I think I'll add more to it till the end of this post.

My first goal to read is THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green.

I've been hearing and reading good reviews about this book. Since I read Looking for Alaska by the same author, right there I know that I am got the right guy. :) I just start reading its e-book but I am hoping to grab a paperback copy since it's hard for me to read online. (I don't have kindle.)

STORY: Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault. Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

Next in line is THE BLACK DOOR series by Velvet.

They say that the plot of this book is more of like "50 Shades of Grey". I don't know if reading this worth the time but that's the good in reading - you never know if it will be good or bad experience. There is always the sense of surprise.
STORY: Ariel Vaughn is a high powered attorney and a partner at her firm, dating one of the most eligible bachelors in New York City, who is also a  powerful judge firmly on the political path.  She's living  the high life, but her sex life has hit a low point.

Once a tiger in the sheets, his interest has cooled considerably, and she's wound so tight she's about to explode. But when a hot young escort introduces her to The Black Door and her best friend encourages her to try it out, she finds a fantasy playground for women - full of every sexual temptation a girl could dream of.
It is there that she meets a man who turns her out physically, mentally and emotionally. But when her sexual fantasy life starts to spill into her real life, everything starts to spiral out of control. She stands to lose everything that means something to her for that next, sweet fix.

Third is ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES by John Green.

Oh yeah! I'm unfair to other authors, but I do really love John Green's writings. :)
If I am going to base it from the plot of the story, it's like applying Mathematics in finding the right guy/girl for you.

STORY: When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton's type happens to be girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact. He's also a washed-up child prodigy with ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a passion for anagrams, and an overweight, Judge Judy-obsessed best friend. Colin's on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which will predict the future of all relationships, transform him from a fading prodigy into a true genius, and finally win him the girl. Letting expectations go and allowing love in are at the heart of Colin's hilarious quest to find his missing piece and avenge dumpees everywhere.
I told yah, the list will be longer. My fourth pick is PAPER TOWNS by John Green... again! :)
Yes, indeed! My task is to finish all of his books within the year! :) I read some good quotes from this book so I think it will be better to read it.. and give proper credits.

STORYQuentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life - dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge - he follows. After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues - and they're for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer Q gets, the less Q sees the girl he thought he knew.

My 5th book is the soon to be a movie, THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK by Matthew Quick.
Some says that this book will make you smile...and I think it's for me to find out if that is true. I also saw this book on the best seller stands of some local bookstores.

STORY: Meet Pat Peoples. Pat has a theory: his life is a movie produced by God. And his God-given mission is to become physically fit and emotionally literate, whereupon God will ensure him a happy ending—the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. (It might not come as a surprise to learn that Pat has spent several years in a mental health facility.) The problem is, Pat’s now home, and everything feels off. No one will talk to him about Nikki; his beloved Philadelphia Eagles keep losing; he’s being pursued by the deeply odd Tiffany; his new therapist seems to recommend adultery as a form of therapy. Plus, he’s being haunted by Kenny G!
So these are my first batch of books-to-read this year. Since I don't have a paperback copies of these books, I still accept post-Christmas gifts from you guys. :)

HAPPY READING!!! :)
